Met six other ladies from Girls Who Hike around 5:45 a.m. on September 29 to summit Ontario Peak. Finally realized that it's fall, and guess what, it's dark at 5:45 a.m.! By headlamp and flashlight, we hit the trail at 6:05 a.m.
This was probably the toughest of all peaks for me… not because the hike was challenging, but because my legs and muscles were still super sore from pound class on Thursday, and a run from earlier in the week.
I should have stretched a little more before I started, I think… although… I'm not sure that would have helped a whole lot.
Hike would have been more enjoyable, had I not been so sore 🙂
Super windy at Ice House Saddle. Like — I wish I had a beanie and a puffy windy. My two light jackets just weren't cutting it. Time to add the gloves back into my pack!
When we arrived at the summit, there was one group bagging four peaks in a day that was just finishing their photo opp. Otherwise, our group had the summit mostly to ourselves, bar two other gentlemen who came up and down whilst we were there, and one group that arrived as we were going to depart.
Would probably do this one again in the future 🙂
