Awesome hike! We started out at 6:00, and within an hour there was traffic on the trail. The first stretch of the trail is rocky as it heads through the forest along a beautiful creek, passing by picturesque stone ruins and cabins. The summit soars above you and for the majority of the trail you are heading up, up, up. The wind, and the fabulous views, hit us when we reached the Icehouse Saddle and we took the right fork to Ontario Peak. There's a mile or so with where the trail is not as steep with a few downed trees to throw yourself over, but Kelly Camp to the summit, is a butt kicker. Not great signage and a few different trails from Kelly, but you can see the summit and pick your way through the trail options. Yes, there is a bottle opener at the summit. BYOB
