It was a little warm, but otherwise a very nice day for a hike. I've never seen the mountain as empty as it was that day, the parking lot at the trailhead only had a few cars in it, I've never been able to park in it before. On the hike up Icehouse Canyon I took Chapman Trail, I have never done that before. It does add a couple miles to the hike (each way), but I found it to be a much more interesting trail than the regular trail going through the bottom of the canyon. A little bit of haze from the top of Ontario Peak, but still a nice view. There were some Fall colors in the canyon, about as good as it gets in southern California.
