The parking lot was full by 7:30 a.m. so we had to park a bit up the road. I wasn't expecting the Icehouse Canyon section to be so brutal, but I was feeling really short of breath due to the altitude and that made it harder. Lots of loose rocks basically all the way up to the Icehouse Saddle, and the views were beautiful. It was a crystal clear day with the creek rushing water all the way from the top down. Lots of wildflowers too. We crossed a bit of snow as well with spikes on near the summit. The hike down back to the car felt endless and rocky, rough on the knees. It was pretty tough, but we did it!
