Peak 4 on the List for the year. (7&8 if you count non listed peaks.) We summited Ontario Peak and Sugarloaf peak on Sunday 3/6. We took the mountaineers route up falling rock canyon up and back, instead of the loop back to icehouse saddle. The recent storm brought lots of snow that made it a steep snow hike the entire way. The route above 6,000’ had soft powdery snow, which combined with the scrambling and rocky accent of Falling Rock Canyon and the ridge line, made it a very difficult day. Only one other person on this trail the entire day. Elevation was about 3,500’ elevation gain over 3 miles up and 6 miles total.
