This is our first peak for the 2021 challenge. We are new to this, so here's a little bit about us. We love to trail run, hike and bike. We are all signed up for the 2021 challenge. We all had on hiking boots, camelbacks, and layered clothing to adjust to the changing weather. Also, snacks were packed in to keep our energy levels up
With that being said, Mt Baldy was a complete challenge. We started off at Manker, and went up the Ski Hut. The grade is steep and the terrain is rugged. Got even steeper after the Ski Hut. By the end, we were all glad to see the awesome bald summit! We spent some time at the top, to take in the achievement and eat our snacks, before heading down. We decided to to go back down Ski Hut, since we made the summit a bit late, and have hiked the Top Notch trail in the past.
Forgot to mention we brought our pawed friend along, who we also bring along on our trail runs. She is very smart and, being a husky, loves the colder weather.
Anyways Mt Baldy was an awesome challenge and we were all sore for a few days afterwards. We all loved the challenge and it was time well spent!

Wow! Great start to your challenge. You took on one of the monsters for your first one. I’m impressed. What’s next? I began my first SoCal Peak of the year on April 17 with Sitton Peak. Hitting up Santiago this weekend and probably the 3-2-1 Challenge (Sawmill) the weekend of May 8th. I’m most likely doing a peak every weekend until I’m done with all nine. That’s an invitation, if you and your family are interested.
Hi Philip, thank you. We are doing local trail runs this weekend, but depending on what time we sleep on Friday night, we might try to get in Strawberry. May 8th Sawmill sounds pretty good though. Thanks for the invite!
