It was a sunny but cool day for a hike. The trail was dry most of the way except for a few small snow patches (which was perfect for our dogs to cool off). The first mile or so is pretty flat and then it gets quite steep in places farther up. Much of the trail is in the trees with lots of shade but there are some exposed sections. The view of Paulina Lake and surrounding mountains at the top is beautiful. Unfortunately it was a bit hazy today so we couldn't see all of the mountains clearly. I guess I'll have to go back!

Paulina Peak makes a nice “warm-up” hike. It’s great that the trail is clear, but yeah, you’ll have to go back and check out the views when the skies are more clear, too!
