Via Holy Jim Trailhead. This is my preferred way up to the summit. Not a fan of hiking up to this peak because of the truck trail that is open to hikers, MTBs, dirt bikes, and off-road vehicles kicking up dirt at every passing. Although Holy Jim is longer in miles (16), compared to Maple Springs (9), it offers less time on the truck trail and more time on a nice single-track with beautiful views. If doing the loop, the total miles on the single-track are about 11, and you are on the truck trail for about 5. It was a windy day and that kept the bugs away. Road to the trailhead is rocky and bumpy but can be done in a compact car. Hiked with my friend, Ivette. She's also a finisher of the six pack. I met her a few months ago on Mt. Baldy. We've done several peaks together since. The stats – 16.5mi, 4160’ gain, 7hrs 50min, drank 1.5L (brought 2.5L), 20oz. electrolytes, salty/sweet snacks, and a summit sandwich. Looking forward to the challenge next year!!
