I finished a VA appointment and decided to look nearby and see what was around to hike. Piestewa Peak was the first thing that came up, so I drove over. The lower portions of the trail were washed out from previous attempts to make a concrete/rock path. The path was undermined by rain over the years. The good news is that if you can’t handle that portion, you really shouldn’t progress further up anyways. The elevation change was fairly difficult, but I managed to huff and puff my way to the summit in 30 minutes and hang out for a few pictures before running back down. Overall the hike was an enjoyable 1 hour adventure. From the base (parking area side) there really isn’t a great place to take a picture of the mountain, but pictures are for the unadventurous anyways.
