Didn't start Piestewa until a little after 3:00 PM – Piestewa was an elusive hike, reminiscent of Agua Caliente with intermediate peaks that tease you into thinking you're there when you're not – I kept thinking stairway to heaven as there were many stone and plank steps – It started to rain as I reached the peak and the wind was blowing so hard I had to drop down to keep from falling over – I slipped a little on a wet stone step as I started to descend – Fortunately I was able to maintain my balance and the sun peeked through the clouds enough to dry the rain – The trail was heavily used even on a weekday – Fortunately the city has a huge parking lot with running water restrooms – My trekking poles were an asset on this hike
