We arrived at five AM as the park was opening. Parked near the trail head, only 3 cars in the parking lot. Started the hike with our head lamps off but decided quickly to turn them off and go old school in the dark. We were so early we didn't encounter any other hikers till we neared the summit and 2 hikers headed passed us heading down. We got to the summit and it was pretty being surrounded by all the city lights. We only stayed up there a few minutes and then we started heading down. We encountered a few people heading up on our way down, but when we got toward the bottom of the mountain is when we encountered a lot of hikers heading up to beat the sunrise up top. We got back to the truck with my brother and I not falling at all.
