Wellll…. just in case you don't believe the more popular trail guides, this hike is steep, lol. This hike doesn't really ever flatten out and its a steep uphill grade pretty much the entire way. Having said that, I think its the shortest hike in the PNW challenge, but also one of the more rewarding ones. It was an absolutely perfect day when I went up and the smoke from the fires was nearly non-existent up on the peninsula. There is a section at the top that involves some climbing and rope use, but there is a conveniently placed pile of gloves available. After the ropes comes the ridge that leads out to that famous view of Lake Crescent. If anyone has done Angel's Landing in Zion this is less scary by comparison, but it still warrants a comparison nonetheless. I'd say if you have a fear of heights that causes you to freeze up, be content to stop just short of the ridge because you've already summited at that point and while the view further out IS amazing, its probably not worth peeing your pants over. Anyway, yeah, great hike, beautiful, couldn't ask for anything more!
