Volcan Mountain

Trailhead:

Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Trail in good condition

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

Bugs were an annoyance

Snow:

Snow free

We went straight up the trail on the way to the peak and came back via the Five Oaks Trail.

The tree cover provided shade in the beginning of the hike but it got hot once we beyond the tree cover.

There were a lot of bugs and we were continuously shooing them away.  A bug net would have been very helpful.

Overall this was a nice hike and we would do it again in cooler weather and with a bug net.
