We planned to begin at 7 a.m. but were delayed by heavy rain. After a heavy breakfast at the nearby golf club, we started hiking with almost no rain at around 8:25 am.

It was cold in the beginning, and we soon reached Potato Chip Rock, took the pictures, and then headed to Lake Poway. The beautiful lake under the blue sky made us go further into the Blue Sky Preserve and take a lunch break at the day-use picnic area.

After our team leader, Host Dennis told us about the poisoned oak and took some pictures, we went back via Fry Koegel Trail.

A shortcut helped us save around a mile, and we finally hiked around 12-12.5 miles.
