What a beautiful day today! We started from the Maple Springs road at Main Divide and it was REALLY windy–every time we were on the east side it got very gusty, but I didn't mind because it blew the bugs away. (A couple weeks ago there were lots of bugs going up to Bedford Peak.) This is a pretty easy hike – wide truck road, nothing too steep so we added Modjeska Peak, which I highly recommend. A few jeeps passed us driving up to the peak and at the trailhead/parking some trucks were playing in the offroad area. Most were cool but one truck stepped on the gas by us kicking up dust and rocks… not cool, dude. Other than that I think we saw 2 other hikers in total on the trails. Great views, great day.

I believe my husband and I were the other two hikers you saw. Sorry you had such a bad experience with the truck. Fortunately for us, all that passed us were considerate.
Oh hello! Beautiful, wasn’t it? It was just the one truck (out of quite a few), and yes – we had a couple conversations with very nice off-roaders. It was much nicer on a weekday than weekend (a few years ago) when there were large groups of 15-20 offroaders going by. Good to see you!
