2nd time back to San Bernardino Peak since the El Dorado fire burned large sections of the trail in 2020. For anyone that had never seen it before this was an amazingly beautiful trail and still is but now it has more of a haunted feel.

This was my first time hiking one of the 10kers this late in the year and we left San Clemente in the dark and returned in the dark due to the shorter days. Weather was incredible for the majority of the hike with it in the upper 40's to low 60's. There were a few sections with a little snow but manageable without traction. Biggest takeaway was how humbling it was as i haven't been in elevation much this year. I felt like I was moving in slow motion above 9,500 feet. Overall a great day and continuing the unofficial tradition of birthday hikea with @kngizzo80

16.8 miles / 8 hours 32 minutes / 4,622 feet elevation gain
