Snowfields to cross – could be difficult

Completed this one on December 11th just before one of the really big snow storms. There was some snow on the trail so I used my microspikes pretty much the entire way. This trail is very long but doable in a day. The incline is fairly gradual, but the distance is what makes it so exhausting. I also had to be very careful coming down. Since the sun set so early I was hiking down in the dark part of the way and had to be careful of ice on the trail. It actually took me longer to get down than to go up. Come prepared- start early, bring lots of food and electrolytes, the proper gear, especially a headlamp with extra batteries in case.
