We started around midnight and hiked all night then all day and into the evening. It was a crazy hike. I think at some point we were all sleep walking and on auto pilot. We took quite a few moments but one of the first ones was to enjoy the night sky and all the stars and planets, trying to figure out what is what. It was beautiful. We tried to take a nap around 7am but it was freezing so we pretty much just shivered for 20 minutes but that was enough to refresh out batteries and continue on our journey to the top. It was tough. We had so many laughs, some tears, a lot of what the hell are we doing. But we were there for each other and kept cheering each other on, all the way to the top. It was a magical moment for me as we started to reach the peak. There were 4 of us still trekking as the main group had reached the peak moments ahead of us. Our pack leader who was one of the 4 started around the last curve and called out to the group, no response, she gathered all her gut calling vocal chords and called out again! And then there we heard the entire group call back to us! It was the sound of all our hard work, the camaraderie and bond between the women who have become great friends on the trails all because of our fearless leader. It was amazing! We took photos and hurried down because we still had a long ways to go to get down. But the laughs didn't end there. It just increased as our tired bodies and minds kept on going. And then finally the last girl reached the parking lot at about 7:10pm. We did it! Did it together!
