We started at the trailhead at 5am. The weather was perfect. The first mile and last 2 miles were the hardest and steepest climbs. In between was a beautiful scenic gradual climb under a shaded forest. We were alone the majority of the hike. We saw deer on the way up and a baby rattlesnake on the way down. There also were thousands of lady bugs flying around the forest. It was an awesome sight.
I’m happy to say I have now completed the six pack of peaks challenge for this year. [Mount Wilson, Mount Baldy, Cucamonga Peak, San Bernardino Peak, San Jacinto Peak, San Gorgonio Peak]
I’m looking forward to climbing more peaks this year!

    1. Thank you!!! I plan to hike the alternate peaks. Also I am leaving July 8th to thru-hike the Colorado Trail. They are having horrible fires so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to complete it entirely due to closures but I’m hoping for the best!
