What a trip! Two down and 4 to go. This was an incredible and challenging hike and I loved every second except for the last mile to the car ???? we got to the trailhead and started at 515am, it was cool and crisp and so lovely watching the sun slowly hit the trees as it rose. The entire home up was almost completely in shade and it was just perfect hiking. The alpine scents and huge pine cones scattered everywhere amongst giant trees really did remind me of being in the Sierra Nevadas – after that scramble at the top you are rewarded with views every way you look. I brought my own peak sign and ended up sharing it with some people because the original one was missing. This hike kicked my butt but so so so worth it.
