San Jacinto via Marion Mtn . . .

This is a harder hike than on paper . . .Why? Many aggressive mosquitoes. . .I always carry my bug net . . .which saved me…Many parts of the trail are in steep, rocky areas…hard on your knees and feet going up and even more so going down.

 

One advantage of this route is that you see very few people. I only met one other hiker late in the afternoon…

This is both a physical training hike (14.5 mi, 4500ft) and a mental toughness test . . .might be better to do it with friends so you can at least have some good conversations!

 

Bonus was driving up early and stopping on the side of the road to see the ‘super moon'
