Today was a special hike for my lil brother Cypress Thongrivong visiting from North Carolina. Hiking from Vivian Creek, this was an 18 mile hike with 5200 feet in gain. Tallest peak in SoCal! We summited San Gorgonio with Midweek Hikers and some of Cypress’ buddies. It was a good hike that I won’t ever forget. It’s also my last peak to finish out the Six Pack of Peaks 2018 challenge. As I did the Fool’s Traverse last Saturday, hiking SG three days later felt a bit crazy. I now have legit blisters to show for it. Even crazier is that I’m coming back this coming Saturday to hike SG from Momyer.
