Since we read Holy Jim Trail was closed we opted for a different route. We settled on starting from Maple Spring Rd. and taking the N. Main Divide Rd to the peak. To get the parking area there is about 4 miles of dirt road which is narrow and bumpy, which is why higher clearance vehicles are suggested. We got to the parking around 8am and there was plenty of space. The N. Main Divide Rod is an off road trail that leads to the peak so it was pretty easy to navigate and lots of space to hike up. we took a shortcut on the way up which was a very narrow covered path. it was pretty but also kind of dangerous because of the mountain bikers coming down the path. (we skipped this on the way down). Once we got to the peak around 10am more and more off road people started to show up. On the way down there were lots of vehicles, dirt bikers and hikers on the road. Around the top of the peak there were patched of snow and but most of trail isn't covered and it started to heat up toward the end. It definitely helped to bring layers because it was cold at the beginning and hot at the end.
