Started early as usual. High clearance vehicle required if you're hiking up Maple Springs – it's 7 miles of rough road. Lots of bugs. Bring spray/net to stay happy. It's super easy (based from our fitness level). To quote my hiking buddies.. “it's more a walk than a hike”
Had the whole trail to ourselves. Saw some campers at the summit but they've kept to themselves and drove down as soon as we woke them up ????????????, I mean they woke up (by themselves). And yes, you can drive all the way up to the summit, like Mt Wilson, but why do that?
Beautiful smoggy views of the neighboring mountains and cities at the summit if you ignore all the radio towers.
Took a different trail going down cutting the hike for about a mile. Kinda rocky, not maintained much, there's shade tho, big dead tarantulas, abandoned pick-up, and other stuff I prolly didn't notice.
