After looking up at Saddleback since moving here in 1984, it was time to cross Santiago Peak off my hiking list this morning. We took the Maple Springs route, which definitely required my Jeep, and headed up before sunrise. It was chilly, in the 30s/40s, for much of the hike, but we were happy with that since there is zero shade. I will definitely do this one again.
