It was SOOO hot in SoCal but we knew the weather would be milder on Pinos and Sawmill, some of my favorite hiking in the area. I love these mountains and it doesn't hurt that they carry so much meaning for the Chumash people. It wasn't crowded and the heat really wasn't so bad at 8000+ feet. I will defintiely choose this hike again in the dead heat of summer. It was rather uneventful, which is nice! And always beautiful.
