* Perfect weather, no rain, no wind, 69F at most, partly cloudy which really helped by this warm day.

* We started the hike from Colby Canyon, very pleasant walk along the river, really well fed with water after the last rainy days.

* A few waterfalls here and there

* Abundant vegetation due to rain again

* Many prickly yuccas and other spiky bushes along the trails.

* If you wish to use the mountaineering trail, take the path on your right to Strawberry Peak and look carefully for a tiny trail on your right, straight after Josephine saddle, very easy to miss … yes, we did!

* First scrambling session over granite boulders was challenging as the ground was sandy and slippery after the rain washed out the slopes. We had to move carefully and slowly to prevent from sliding.

* Once at the bottom of the peak, we had to go through a little forested area, where bushes had grown so much due to the rain and were then overwhelming the trail. Also, tiny flies were all over because of this humidity, but were not really an annoyance as long as we kept our mouths closed!!

* The 2nd session of scrambling: last half mile before reaching the peak was also challenging as some of the rocks were porous after the rain, therefore friable. The path was difficult to see or find, “thankfully” we could still see some washed out arrows, painted in green and purple graffiti spray paint.

* This Class 3 Scrambling part absolutely requires previous experience as it is technical, exposed and steep.

* Great view from the peak, over the snowy surrounding peaks  : Baldy …

* Too bad there is not a wooden sign with name and elevation, yet, as for the other peaks.

2h20 to reach the summit.
