I went in late December and got an early start to avoid crowds. We drove from Phoenix at 6:30am and got the trailhead around 8:30am. It was super chilly at around 35 degrees but once we got started the initial incline warmed us up. As the sun rose, it warmed up to 70s so it wasn’t a bad weather. It is steep with 1900 feet of elevation but it is doable. It goes up a hard incline in the beginning then it goes down for a little and goes back up. At the end there are 2 vertical ropes to go up. It’s easier going up then down! (It’s easier to go down facing towards the rocks) gloves are recommended to not get rope burn, but not necessary. I brought some but forgot to use. I really only needed it once to get down.
