Nice cool day. Started out at 9 AM and the sun came out about noon. Ran into some campers at Frog Lake then no one else for many miles. Much of the hike was on Jeep trail. Shortcut was NO JOKE. Decided against Jackass Trail due to reported heavy poison oak and many ticks. Thankfully I brought my poles or my feet would be toast from the steep downhills. Took the Forest Trail toward the end. Very peaceful and shady. Took 7 hours from start to finish.

  1. Yes, The Shortcut is no joke!

Do you know how many miles you logged taking the fire road rather than the Jackass Trail?

  2. Congrats! (There is a Henry Coe FB page, if you’ve enjoyed your visit, and want to share or go back again! I’m the Admin for it.)
