This is definitely recommended early by sunrise if you're not a fan of the sun hitting you off & on but this was a great hike and amazing feel & views from the top. I won't say that it's dog and kid friendly especially the last .3 miles. But overall it was a great trail. It took us 5 hours out and back of 10 miles.
