Started off this years Six Pack (going for all twelve this year) with Sitton Peak. It had been a decently cool couple of weeks prior to this hike so the morning of the hike I decided to take my extra water bottle out of my pack. A group of friends and me carpooled to the trail head for the meet up and we stopped on the way to fill up with gas. I went into the gas station and grabbed a Gatorade figuring that it would be nice to come back to in the car at the end. Luckily my foolish self forgot to take that Gatorade out of my pack at the beginning of the hike. As we went on through the trees and early morning it was still cool out and shaded from the trees in the first part of the trail. I wasn't until Four Corners (actually Five Corners) that the trail opens up and is completely exposed. As the hike went on the sky cleared up and the sun was constantly beating down on me. Rounded the bend and saw the final ascent to the summit, which by the way is way more steep than made out to be on most hike review sites. Got to the top and sat there enjoying the views and hanging out with some new friends when I went to pick up my water bottle for a drink and realized that it was empty. Luckily like I said I had that Gatorade in my pack still so I was good for the way back. All in all a really pleasant hike and not too strenuous besides the final climb. Anyone debating this one should give it a go, just make to bring a little extra water.
