Sitton Peak is a beautiful trail, as long as the rain doesn't come!
We parked and were thrilled with ample parking, potty and easy to locate trail head! Trail is super pretty and my sister-in-law, daughter and I were really enjoying the hike – that is until the rain came! Rain was not in the forecast and it started to sprinkle at the last .5 mile to the top. Well, It's that half mile that's known to be “the scramble” part of the trail. So close to the top, we decided to finish. Hurried and took our pics at top knowing that the more it rained, the muddier and more difficult it would be to get down. Yep. That first mile down was a slow one! We had mild rain our entire hike down. Not fun on that trail. Had rain been in the forecast or had it been raining when we parked, I would not have gone. I know it is bad for the trails and it really is not fun to hike when it is raining. That being said, I would love to go back some day as it is a very pretty trail and not a difficult hike at all.
** Also, started my AllTrails recording on the wrong trail. Provided a blown up pic of map to show what trail we did do which shows Sitton Peak and our start at Bear Canyon.**

Oh my gosh… don’t FALL in that mud! This is one of the reasons I always make a point to bring some extra shoes or flip flops and a clean t-shirt to leave in the car for the drive home.
