We got to the parking lot close to 9 a.m. and the parking lot was pretty much full already. There were more loose rocks on the trails as compared to my last hike here on 12/30/18, probably from the recent storms. We saw many painted lady butterflies along the way. My 10-year old was slipping/sliding and fell a few times – couldn't tell if it's because he was tired, his shoes didn't have good enough traction or that he's not a very experienced hiker.  But we ultimately made it to the top and the view was amazing! We could see the snow-capped mountains on one side and ocean on the other side.
