Hike Log

Six of one, half dozen of the other. Old Mt. Baldy Trail for my Sixth Peak.

Bear Canyon-Mt Baldy Visitors Center

Trail Conditions:

Trail in good condition

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

Bugs were not too bad

Snow:

Snowfields to cross – could be difficult

Six down, trying to do all twelve. Lots of elevation gain on this route, my Garmin showed 5900 in 6.5 miles. Trail is clear and dry to just past the narrows.  Snow on the last two miles up to the summit, firm in the AM, slushy coming down. Used trekking poles and micro spikes.

Lots of friendly people on the route.
