The weather ranged from rain to sunshine 🌞 on this Saturday of the Easter weekend, and it had us rising up “The Shortcut” on this vigil eve. The last mile of Hobbs rd before it meets Blue Ridge rd had me contemplating the reasoning of hiking 🚶‍♂️. The other tough part is the Cougar trail. The afternoon/evening gave good views of Miller field (I think) as viewed from Jackass trail (no kidding).

Untreated water availability is scarce, but pit toilets abound. The last 1.5 mile of the loop via forest trail, and coral trails were a jewel in my belief, especially after the recent rain. What a fitting finale! (Peak 6 of the Northern California challenge)
