We started the hike for Mt. Pinos from Chula Vista Campground. We walked away from the trail in the beginning (which we later termed as our “warm-up”????). The hike did have snow intermittently. It was pretty slushy and our ankles were sinking in some places. It was not too bad but it did slow us down a bit.
The hike is not very clearly marked so we had to check if we were on the trail every once in a while. (We used All trails app for it.)
The views from top are beautiful though it was a hazy day. We ended our hike by getting an amazing lunch and coffee at Black Coffee Draft House.
It was great half day hike with the perfect weather.

Did you need microspikes or anything else for the snow?
No special equipment was necessary.
