This was our last hike before we went on the JMT for 14 days! The sun was heavy on us after the ice house saddle climbing up the back side of Cucamonga. Lost so much energy in that stretch that I ended up taking an hour nap on the summit. We saw a huge rattle snake on the summit and a mountain king snake down by the creek on the side of a tree. I always forget how beautiful the sights are as you leave the summit coming back down reverse. I love the creek section as the sun hangs low.
