Snowfields to cross – could be difficult

Went up to Baden-Powell after a recent snow storm. The highway up to the trailhead on highway 2 was covered in snow, but no chains needed. Light and powdery snow was present at the trailhead all the way to the peak! In some sections the snow got to knee-waist deep but manageable with micro spikes. After three miles, the trail of switchbacks seemed to have been lost, so we followed the footsteps of previous hikers to go straight up the mountain. Once we reached the saddle we were met with stunning views of surrounded snow covered Wrightwood mountains and wind gusts of up to 35mph. Once we reached the peak, we ate our lunch and snapped a few pictures before rushing down due to cold temperatures. Once retuning to the parking lot, we were met with large crowds of people having a fun snow day and sledding around on small hills around the parking lot.
