Mount Umunhum hike is lovely moderate hike. Parking is a challenge! Get there early or prepare to wait until folks free up spaces.

We did this hike in mid January so there was some snow and lovey snowmen on this trail.  It is a gradual incline to get to the peak.  You will hit about 40 steps that takes you to an old 60’s Air Force building.  The views of San Jose from the top are great.  The building itself looks and feels like a building from the times of the Cold War.

If you are lucky enough, as we were, there will be a ranger to greet you when you get to the top and drop some knowledge about Mount Umunhum. Overall this was a great hike and suitable for folks of all hiking skill levels.  It took us about 3 hours out and back.
