Great sunny & clear (but cold) day to climb a mountain! Started from Mailbox Peak TH at 9am on Friday. Trail was snow covered from the start, first just a little bit, becoming more steady as we went up. Took the new switchbacks trail up as the old one seems to be very muddy and slippery from recent snow. Only took 2 hours to get to the connector with Old trail and below rock slide. Beautiful views in every direction! Another 45 mins to get up steep snowy hill to the summit to the Mailbox. New mailbox from last year is still intact, another black empty mailbox is stored nearby just in case. The descent down took 2 hours, total of 5 hours.
