Made it to the trailhead after a wrong turn. Parking lot was wide open and pit toilets right at the start. I knew from reading the reviews that we had 40 switchbacks to contend with before hitting the summit, but I really wasn't prepared for them, haha. It's a steady, uphill climb, but nothing too gnarly and the mountain scenery was beautiful! About a mile from the summit, we ran into several groups of people who had turned around due to snow and ice on the trail, but we weren't about to let that stop us. Pushed through it and made it to the summit where it was sunny with a slight breeze. Had a 30 minute lunch surrounded by mountains; not a bad way to spend a few! First mile back down was slow as trail was slushy and slippery, but the rest of the way down was quick and a piece of cake. It's a calf burner, no doubt, but the views from the top are amazing!

Good job! I love Powell so much. Love that view and the fact that is named after the OG Boy Scout!
