When we started out on the trail at 6:30am it was chilly. My fingers were a little cold holding my poles, but it quickly warmed up. There weren't a lot of people on the trail for the first 4 miles, but the population density picked up the closer we got Lewis Tarn. There was long line of hikers slogging up the last mile. I really enjoyed camaraderie among the hikers as we encouraged each other to the top. The hike to the top was hard. The steep incline coming back down seemed harder on me. I had never done a hike that long and steep before and I was really proud that I was able to make it.
