Amazing. Started at the typical Stephenson Memorial Trail. Water in the creek at the bottom right now, but no real mud on the trail. After the monument, we took the Silverado mine shaft on the way up, which is a bit of steep scrambling. Bagged the South peak first also on the way up. Awesome views that are a bit closer south to the SF bay/skyline and fewer cell towers in your way. It’s also a way to shorten the hike if you want. We went on to bag both peaks. Pretty much the whole time, you are rewarded with views on all sides of the sierras, Bay Area, Mts. Diablo & Tamalpais, and Napa valley. So happy to get the views this time; as there was no fog today, only some light haze in the distance and high clouds. There is a cool rock formation that looks like a squirrel if you look down the mountain to your left (going up) a little ways after getting on the main fire road. Fun trail, will do again!
