The first 4 miles of the hike are some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. The trail is very well maintained. I started early, before 8am so there were very few people on the trail. Good thing too because it's not very wide. Once I reached Pantoll campgrounds, it is a little confusing, but a quick look on the map will get you to the right trail. The rest of the way up to the peak is okay, just a fire road. It was a sunny day so there isn't much shade. The way down is fine. Nothing really exciting. I may take my family here to hike. If we do, I'd just do the Dipsea Trail to Pantoll Campground and then try to head down via public transportation.
