Great first peak to ease into the challenge. There isn’t a whole lot of shade so it’s best to get an early start. I had the perfect weather, clear and just a little chill in the air. The first 2.5 miles is a very easy gentle grade with most of the elevation gain in the last mile+. I was originally going to do this as a through hike with a buddy leaving one car at Redbox starting the hike at Colby Canyon. I talked to another group at the summit who had come up Colby and they confirmed that it is a more technical route in the last section with some 4th class scrambling and route finding can be more challenging. They also said the first section is amazing right now with wildflowers in bloom and the waterfalls are flowing. I am definitely going to come back and do it again as I originally planned, but for now I’m just excited to get this challenge started and am planning on doing the 3-2-1 challenge in a few weeks to knock off Sawmill
