The hike up Strawberry Peak was mostly straightforward. The tricky bit is after Lawlor Saddle, where you take a left at the fork to proceed up to the top: there's a bit of climbing there, but nothing too bad. After hitting Strawberry Peak, I then went back to Lawlor Saddle and instead of heading back to the trailhead, instead opted to take a left and head toward Josephine Peak. This hike was much nicer: it goes around the north side of Strawberry Peak, and passes through Strawberry Meadow. There are some old campsite markers out there, and I can see why: it's a nice, quiet spot, away from the folks heading up Strawberry. Heh, if I were to do it again, I think I'd skip the peaks and just head for Strawberry Meadow! Anyway, from there, the way out to Josephine is also pretty straightforward: the trail gets narrow and slope-y in spells leading up to Josephine Saddle (but still doable), but get to the saddle, walk a connector trail, and you're on a road circling up to the top of Josephine. The view from Josephine is also pretty nice: wide views south to the LA basin, north over so many hills, and west (over the hut up there) out towards Tujunga. And there's a little bookcase up there with the trail sign and register!
