I've attempted Baldy before in absolute failure going up the ski hut trail, reaching the ski hut after 4 hours of hiking and turning around. I am proud to say I reached the summit of Baldy on this occasion via the ski hut trail after 4 hours, the time it used to take me to get (roughly) half way up. We then came down the Devil's Backbone which was also beautiful.
