Cucamonga peak
First of all what the hell lmao, I did this hike a year ago and I don't remember suffering as much as I did this time.
Day started as usual, wake up at 4 am leave at 4.30 be at the trail head by 6.30am. Once I got there Roxy and I had to wait for people to show up. Usually I've done this during the week but this time we went for Sunday. Let me tell you avoid it at all times the parking situation during the weekend is horrible. We managed to find parking bit since we were waiting for other people, not sure if we were going to get parking for them.
They ended up finding parking so we started hiking around 7.10 lame I know. First part of the hike it's mellow, real pretty but too rocky for my liking still great trail. The trek to the saddle was a piece of cake but it felt long for some reason. We had to accommodate to other people's pace, which is the only reason I like hiking alone. I go at my pace I stop when I want etc etc. Once at the saddle we headed up towards Cucamonga. We got some rest and ate a snack before heading up.
Okay so switchbacks, what the hell. This was what took a toll on me and going at others peoples pace. I feel the more you rest the more tired you get and the longer it will become and this was what happen. Once we reached the summit we ate took pictures and relaxed for a bit. I had a tired tired dog this day. On the way back I knew Roxy was not going to be able to finish the trek, I could tell how tired she was. Mid way I ended up carrying her for a good mile till my arms got tired. The way back felt eternal, like it wasn't going to end.
But finally we reached the parking lot and I was relieved it was over. Now the 2 hour drive back was not what I wanted to experience lol. But other than that is still and amazing hike the views are like no other. I love the views up in this summit.
