Originally planned to be a group hike, unexpected events prevented the rest of the group from participating.  They still encouraged me to proceed with the hike since I was already there and the distance on the service road from Highway 67 was short. I did the hike and it did not disappoint. Most of the hikers I met were already heading downhill. On the way up I saw some who were rock climbing some of the boulders. When I got to the summit where the structures and antennas were located, I picked the most accessible high point that did not involve rock climbing and got my summit photo taken there. Afterwards I went with a family who was also hiking to Potato Chip Rock. Although most of the crowd had left Potato Chip Rock when we had got there there were still a few who were getting their pictures taken. I got my photos taken on Potato Chip Rock, assisted one hiker in getting on the rock and took photos of another when it was her turn to get up there. We were the last to leave Potato Chip Rock, two hikers heading back down to the Lake Poway trailhead while I and the hiking family headed back up to the summit and going over back down to Highway 67. The hike down was uneventful although we did use our lights on the hike back down.  A good quick sunset start to the challenge.
