Due to my starting the hike at around 4:40 PM, I was able to park close to the trailhead along Highway 67. As I parked another car pulled behind me and when I got out of my car to get my gear, the driver from the other vehicle called to me to confirm whether or not the Potato Chip trailhead was here. I confirmed it was so. Soon, I went ahead and started hiking up. The other hikers later caught up with me and hiked their own pace.  There were quite a number of hikers on the trail. I chose to stop at the summit and take photos before proceeding down to Potato Chip Rock. Most of the other hikers were either intent on heading directly to Potato Chip Rock, or were just going to the summit to bag the peak having taken the other trailhead from the lake. After a few minutes at the summit, I headed down to Potato Chip Rock. There were several persons at Potato Chip Rock but no long lines like in other previous visits. I took my time relaxing, and later took my turn getting on the Rock. A hiker from another group graciously took my photos from below while I was on the Rock. After hanging out for some more minutes, I headed back up to the summit to go over the crest and head back to Highway 67. At the summit, I stopped again and took more photos before heading down. On the way down, I met some hikers whom I had left behind at Potato Chip Rock but had hiked through the summit and did not stop while I was up there. Along the way, I met a few hikers who asked for recommendations about other trails in San Diego. I recommended El Cajon and Corte Madera. We parted ways when we got back at the trailhead and we headed to our respective cars.
